by isleofman.com 8th May 2008
A hearing’s been told how the former chief executive of the Manx Electricity Authority refused to supply regular financial reports to government officials.

As the Tynwald inquiry continued into the MEA’s ?120 million overspend, a select committee today heard the Authority repeatedly showed disregard for capital procedures.

And Mike Proffitt was described as being 'obstructive' to requests for financial information.

Indeed, at one point, Mr Proffitt told government officials he hoped to save ?9 million in the final cost of the project.
