Police crack down on graffiti

by isleofman.com 10th May 2008
There's been a destructive rash of vandalism in the south of the Island.

In the early hours on Wednesday, police reported graffiti throughout Castletown.

It was on a vehicle in the Crofts, on a shelter on Thirtle Bridge and on garage doors near the promenade.

Blue spray paint was used.

Exhaustive inquiries followed, helped by local schools, the commissioners and members of the public, which led to a 17 year-old and 18 year-old man from the south being arrested.

The message is, the police will take a tough line over such incidents and it's a demonstration of what can be achieved when the community comes together to help.
