Admitted aggravated burglary

by isleofman.com 12th May 2008
A three year jail term has been handed down to a 25 year old Douglas man who admitted aggravated burglary.

Darren Finch of Spring Valley Road forced his way into an occupied flat on Derby Square with another man. They demanded money for an alleged debt from those inside. They had a silver baseball bat with them.

Finch denied it at first but his finger prints were found on a door frame. His advocate described his actions as 'misguided loyalty' and said he wouldn't get involved again.

But Deemster Doyle said a ten day trial date had been set aside before Finch changed his plea, and that the sentence passed must have a deterrent efect.
