Audio guide to Manx names

by isleofman.com 14th May 2008
An audio guide is now available on-line for people struggling with the pronunciation of Manx names.

It's on the Learn Manx website and is intended to encourage correct usage for newcomers to the Isle of Man.

The site is funded by the Manx Heritage Foundation.

The organisation's Manx Language Officer Adrian Cain (pictured) says it's easy to see why people sometimes struggle with saying certain words properly (audio file attached):

Adrian Cain was speaking to Dan Davies on Talking Heads.
