Robert Dunlop dies after crash at North West 200

Five time T.T. winner Robert Dunlop has died as a result of serious chest injuries suffered in a crash during Thursday night's North West 200 practice session.

Another Northern Ireland rider Darren Burns has suffered a suspected broken leg and concussion in the same incident at the Mathers Cross section of the Triangle Course.

Robert Dunlop's brother Joey is the biggest T.T. winner of all time taking victory around the Mountain Course an incredible 26 times - Joey was killed in a racing accident in Estonia in 2000.

In 1994, Robert suffered serious injuries in a crash at the T.T. at Ballaugh when his Honda RC45 rear wheel collapsed.

Robert Dunlop recorded 10 wins around the Billown Circuit in the south of the Island and was the biggest winner of all at the North West 200 with fifteen.
