Chartered accountant Justin Unsworth has been successful in yesterday's local authority election in Port Erin.
He polled 494 votes. Housewife Michelle Wirtz received 69 votes and Edward McBride who had withdrawn from the election earlier in the week received two votes.
There were six rejected papers. A total of 571 votes were cast and turnout was 21.72%
Meanwhile in yesterday's election in Peel, retired police officer Alan Jones was victorious.
He polled 566 votes to business analyst Raymond Harmer's 78.
Ian Davison, who again had withdrawn from the election earlier in the week, received 6 votes.
Both the successful candidates will serve a four year term until 1st May 2012
