Final day to comment on draft bill

by isleofman.com 16th May 2008
It's the final day for parents to comment on new legislation which could see significant changes made to the Education system in the Isle of Man.

The draft Education (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill contains a number of proposals, including the abolition of the Board of Education and an increase in fines for parents whose children play truant.

More significantly perhaps are the possible new legal powers for teachers which would enable them to deal with unruly pupils.

The consultation period ends today.
