Horse Tram service launched

by isleofman.com 17th May 2008
As one of his final engagements as Mayor of Douglas, Colin Cain has launched the 2008 Douglas horse tram service.

In a brief ceremony at the Strathallan terminus earlier this week, Councillor Cain and his wife Sue joined colleagues and officers for a ride on a double decker horse tram before making a short tour of the tram sheds and stables.

Councillor Cain urged members of the public to use what he called a ‘unique’ service and a relaxing form of transport to view Douglas promenade and bay.

Dot Pitts were officially installed as Mr Cain’s successor as Mayor on Wednesday this week.
