Robert Laid to Rest Next to Joey

by isleofman.com 18th May 2008
Thousands upon thousands lined the five mile route from Robert Dunlop's home to the Garryduff Presbyterian Church in Ballymoney for his funeral on Sunday afternoon.

At the bottom of every farm track, driveway, garden, street, doorway and grass verge.....people gathered to pay their last respects to the five-time T.T. winner, who died last Thursday from injuries sustained in a practice crash for the North West 200.

The whole Northern Ireland community came together with First Minister Ian Paisley and Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness in attendance.

After the service, Robert Dunlop was laid to rest next to his brother Joey.

Trade and Industry Minister David Cretney was at the funeral as both a representative of the Isle of Man and as a family friend of the Dunlops:-
