Education Bill - DoE could do better!

'Not specific enough' is the view of Ramsey Commissioners on proposed legislation which could see significant changes made to the education system in the Isle of Man.

The board held a special meeting to consider its stance on a draft Education Bill, which contains a number of proposals including guidelines on how teachers should deal with unruly pupils and the abolition of the Board of Education.

The consultation period ended on Friday and commissioners' chairman Brian Beattie says the local authority has made its own submission to the DoE (audio file attached):
