Chief executive talks about new fast craft

The Steam Packet's chief executive has been explaining the improvements which will be offered by the company's new ?20 million fast craft.

Mark Woodward (pictured) says it will provide a much more stable ride in rough weather and will be able to carry trucks, buses and general freight if necessary.

The vessel, which will mainly operate on the Douglas-Liverpool route, is a 96 metre wave-piercing catamaran, and is much faster than anything used on the routes to date:
