Event safety seminar

With preparations for TT2008 well and truly upon us, the Department of Home Affairs has been helping event organisers hone their safety skills.

Representatives from fourteen organisations have attended a three-day seminar at the Claremont Hotel in Douglas organised by the department.

The aim is to make sure events take place in a safe way, and the course covered topics such as crowd dynamics, operational planning, risk assessment and liability issues.

Chief Inspector Peter Young says it’s important to make sure everybody involved in Island events is well-trained:
