Select committee has a new member

by isleofman.com 21st May 2008
Recently elected member of the Legislative Council David Callister (pictured) has been voted onto the Select Committee of Tynwald investigating the Manx Electricity Authority.

He received 23 votes from members this afternoon and will replace fellow MLC Alan Crowe.

Mr Crowe was discharged after it became clear part of the committee’s remit was to look at Treasury’s capital procedures.

He was a political member of Treasury between 2001 and 2003 and it was felt inappropriate for him to be involved in the committee's investigations.
