Flight Support job loss 'inevitable'

Trade and Industry Minister David Cretney says the loss of 19 jobs at Airbase Flight Support is an 'inevitable consequence' of the demise of EuroManx.

The job losses were confirmed by the company yesterday (Wed) in a move which the company described as 'regretful but unavoidable'.

In a statement, Chief Executive Brett Turner thanked all the staff for their hard work and said he wished there could have been an alternative outcome.

However Mr Cretney believes there are lots of job opportunities for those who have been made redundant, and his department will do all it can to help:
