ID fraud question

by isleofman.com 23rd May 2008
Chief Minister Tony Brown says there have been no cases of identity theft happening here in the Isle of Man – although some Manx residents have been hit.

In a written answer to a question from David Callister MLC, Mr Brown (pictured) said the government was aware of the risks and had issued advice to people on how to avoid becoming a victim.

In particular, the Data Protection Supervisor had published a booklet to students last year which can be downloaded from the government website.

He said information is also available from the Office of Fair Trading and the Financial Supervision Commission.
