Registrar 'not surprised' by Tory data gaffe

The Isle of Man's Data Protection Registrar is warning of the pitfalls of email after this week’s Conservative party gaffe.

On Wednesday, the personal details of more than 8,000 voters in Crewe and Nantwich were sent to Manx Radio by mistake by a party worker.

Iain McDonald (pictured) is surprised at the sensitive nature of the information which was leaked.

However, he says it’s not surprising such errors occur, because technology makes it easier to slip up:
