Island represented at Gibraltar conference

by isleofman.com 24th May 2008
Five members of Tynwald have been looking at the problems of climate change at a conference in Gibraltar.

The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association organised the event, which was attended by MLCs Clare Christian and George Waft and MHKs Juan Watterson, Phil Gawne and Tim Crookall.

The conference featured expert briefings on climate change, energy generation, waste management and eco-tourism.

A communique released by delegates at the end of the event calls on governments to support a climate treaty in 2012.
