Ramsey man visits Chernobyl

An intrepid Manx man has recently returned from a potentially hazardous visit to Chernobyl - the Ukrainian city uninhabited for 22 years following the worst nuclear power plant disaster in history.

Ramsey man Juan McGuiness was taken around in a group and shown, along with other things, an abandoned School and fairground.

The radiation levels are such now that it is relatively safe as long as you are there no longer than eight hours, and stay clear of the restricted zones.
