The Manx Electricity Authority has revealed it’s losing more than three pence on every unit of electricity it generates.

Chairman Eddie Lowey gave details of how much the Island’s power costs in a written answer to a question in the House of Keys today.

Onchan MHK Peter Karran asked for a breakdown of costs the authority faces to generate each unit.

Mr Lowey revealed each unit costs 16.41 pence, while the MEA charges just 12.73 pence.
