A basking shark which was satellite tagged off the Isle of Man last year has been tracked to waters off Canada.
It's the first confirmation the animals can migrate such massive distances.
Until now little has been known about where they go when they move out of British waters.
But the data provided by the satellite tag shows they travel thousands of miles and head to very deep waters in their quest for food.
It's hoped the information will help in efforts to conserve the animals and protect them from exploitation.
A further five sharks are due to be tagged this summer.
