Night shelter for homeless

by isleofman.com 29th May 2008
The 50 or so people in the Isle of Man who have been identified as homeless will have somewhere to go during the hours of darkness this winter.

After overcoming a planning objection on appeal, the Manx homeless charity Kemmryk has been given permission to run a night shelter from a property in Harris Terrace, Douglas.

It will be open from 9pm to 8.30am every day and Kemmryk Chairman, Major Nigel Collins (pictured), says basic facilities will be provided:

As a condition of the planning approval, a local liaison committee will be formed, to monitor the running of the shelter this winter.
