Minister announces PDO meetings

Local food producers have a chance to find out more about an EU scheme to protect the names of prized regional foods next month.

The Department of Agriculture is hosting two presentations to highlight the benefits and opportunities of the PDO, or Protected Designation of Origin, scheme.

In April, Manx Loaghtan Lamb was awarded the prestigious PDO quality stamp, an accolade shared by Gorgonzola cheese and Parma ham.

Guest speakers from the United Kingdom will give Manx producers advice on how to export, and the benefits of attending trade shows.
