British-Irish Inter-Parliamentary Group

by isleofman.com 30th May 2008
For the first time a meeting of the British-Irish Inter-Parliamentary Body will be held in the Isle of Man.

The group is made up of various parliamentary members from among other places Ireland, the United Kingdom and Scotland.

The Island's representative is Speaker of the House of Keys Steve Rodan who says the body is a very useful forum for discussing matters of concern.

At the last meeting in Wexford, the Irish Government committed to working with the Isle of Man to push for the closure of Sellafield.

Mr Rodan says the meeting to be held on June 22nd and 23rd will also be a chance to show the Island off to the visitors:
