Counterfeit notes suspects questioned

Two men have been questioned by detectives investigating the discovery of forged banknotes in the Douglas area.

They have been released on police bail, as enquiries continue.

The forgeries are Bank of England five and twenty pound notes, bearing the images of Elizabeth Fry and Adam Smith respectively.

Sergeant Gary Heaton was holding a counterfeit 'fiver' as he described it to Manx Radio:
