Venture schemes launched by DoE

The Department of Education's Youth Service is launching its popular annual Holiday Venture Schemes, aimed at children from school years four to eight (that's eight to 13 year olds).

The schemes are held at various locations around the Island and most are available on a daily or a weekly basis, although an Arts course at Douglas Youth Centre is only available as a full week block.

Youth Officer Grianne Burns (pictured) says the schemes, which start in late July, are usually well subscribed, and they aren't necessarily designed as a childcare option for working parents:
