The most recently elected member of Tynwald has been given political roles in two departments of the Manx government.

The appointments of David Callister to the DTI, and the Department of Agriculture are included in a reshuffle, announced by Chief Minister Tony Brown today.

Elsewhere, Alan Crowe, MLC, takes over Pam Crowe's position as member of the DHSS with responsibility for health, and he is also lined up to succeed her as Chairman of Isle of Man Post.

Mr Brown explained some of the reasons behind such appointments (audio file attached):

Other changes involve Juan Turner, Graham Cregeen, Quintin Gill, who is set to become chairman of the Manx Electricity Authority, and Bill Henderson.
