Minister defends his record on organics

A government minister is defending his department's record, in the face of criticism from the leader of the Liberal Vannin party.

On Tuesday, Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne explained why he felt it wouldn't be viable for the Isle of Man to become the first fully organic Island in the world, as suggested by Peter Karran.

Mr Karran accused him of lacking vision, but Mr Gawne says he has done more than anybody else in government to promote organics in the Isle of Man.

He's also not very impressed with Mr Karran's contribution to the debate on the future of agriculture:
