Sixteen shooters took part in Ayre Clay Target Club’s summer Down the Line league at Blue Point on Sunday.

Bob Wright set the pace in the first round, hitting all 25 clays, using his second barrel just once for a score of 74 ex 75.

Kevin Oates and Ted Kermeen were closest behind on 71 apiece with Darryl Cooper on 70.

Kevin upped his game in the second round, hitting all 25 targets, using the second barrel twice for a 73.

Nigel Kelly, shooting Trap for a change, dropped one target with one second barrel to score 71.

Results: A/B Class: 1, Kevin Oates 49/144; 2, Bob Wright 48/141; 3, Nigel Kelly 48/139. C Class: 1, Ted Kermeen 49/141; 2, Stephen Sayle 44/130; 3, Adrian Cooper 42/124.

Also at Blue Point on Sunday was the second round of the Double Trap League.

This was won by Kevin Oates – obviously having a good day – on 121 ex 150, second was Jake Keeling on 114 and Ted Kermeen third on 99.

This Sunday ACTC are hosting a 50 bird Sporting fun shoot.
