Bronze replica for determined sidecar man

A passenger who was told this morning he couldn't compete in today's Sidecar 2 Race on medical grounds won a TT bronze replica this afternoon.

Martin Hull was due to be Andy Laidlow’s passenger until he got an eye infection and had to go to hospital where he was detained overnight.

After being told this morning he would have to drop out, he had an operation and was given the green light to take part.

Unable to get a taxi, he ran from the hospital to the grandstand three quarters of an hour before the race.

He re-entered and the pair claimed 19th spot, much to Martin’s delight:
