Volunteers work on Glen Vine wheel

Painstaking work to save a forgotten piece of the Island's industrial heritage should see an old mill wheel turning once again by the autumn.

Enthusiast Pete Geddes and a team of eight volunteers have dismantled - and are now restoring - a water wheel at Glen Darragh corn mill in Glen Vine.

Pete (pictured) who was behind the restoration of the Snaefell wheel in Laxey, received an MBE from the Queen last month, for his services to Manx heritage.

He says water wheel restoration has become something of a passion:
