DoLGE out to dispel housing myth

'Superb modern homes in a wonderful setting' is an accolade developers are aiming for when the new-look Janet's Corner is complete.

A major renewal project is underway on the estate next to King William's College in Castletown.

It includes new-build homes, some designed for disabled people, and the modernisation of existing houses, at a total cost of ?22.7 million.

Rushen MHK Juan Watterson (pictured), the DoLGE member with responsibility for housing, says replacing homes built 50 years ago has proved expensive:
