Part of the Mountain Road was closed to traffic from just after 4pm, following a road accident at Hailwood Rise, near the Bungalow.

It's understood two vehicles were involved and two people were hurt, although the extent of their injuries is not known.

The Mountain Road was still closed from Ramsey Hairpin to Creg-ny-Baa a short time ago (8pm), with no word on when it would reopen.

Meanwhile, another part of the TT course was closed for more than four hours this afternoon, following an accident involving a single motorcycle.

It happened at Ballacrye, three quarters of a mile north of Ballaugh Bridge, just after 1.30pm and the rider is understood to have received serious injuries.
