A bank employee who stole money from people's accounts has appeared before the High Bailiff.

Thirty-nine year-old Simon Hay of Bromitt Road, Castletown admitted eleven offences of theft, with two others of attempted theft taken into consideration.

The court heard Hay, who worked at Barclay's Bank, was arrested last December following a complaint, and admitted stealing more than ?5,000.

He said stole the money to pay a drug debt accumulated over years and to support his family.

Hay was bailed until July 8 for reports.
