Tribute to Normandy veteran Harry

A man who worked to help others, to the end.

Warm tributes are being paid to Harry Bacon, a Normandy veteran and leading light in the Island's Royal British Legion, whose funeral is tomorrow.

Mr Bacon (pictured) devoted himself to ex-service charity work after moving here in 1973, and remained active until his death on June 1.

Longstanding friend Hector Duff says preserving the Island's war memorials became a priority for him in later life (audio file attached):

The funeral will be at St Peter's Church in Onchan, at 1.45pm tomorrow.
