Old tradition for new Bishop

The new Bishop of Sodor and Man will revive an old tradition on his way to his first sermon at Malew Church this evening (Thursday).

Bishop Robert Paterson will ride in a landau carriage from Castletown to the church, just as his predecessors did many years ago, before enthronement.

In more recent times, it's been the other way round, with the Malew sermon given after enthronment.

Bishop Robert will be enthroned at Peel Cathedral on Saturday.
