Bishop's first service

The new Bishop of Sodor and Man will revive an age old tradition, on the way to preaching his first sermon in the Island this evening.

The Right Reverend Robert Paterson will travel from Castletown to Malew parish church in a landau carriage, accompanied by the Archdeacon.

Bishop Robert (pictured) is due to arrive at Malew parish church at about 7.30pm, and Judith Ley will be reporting on the service on Mandate tomorrow morning.

He will be enthroned as bishop at Peel Cathedral on Saturday afternoon.
