Harvester owner won't come to Island

by isleofman.com 12th June 2008
Solway Harvester owner Richard Gidney has declined to come to the Isle of Man to visit the wreck in Douglas harbour.

Appearing in Kirkcudbright Sheriff Court, where he is giving evidence on commission at the inquest into the deaths of the seven crew, Mr Gidney said he had already visited the vessel.

The trawler sank in January 2000, and the inquest was delayed while arrangements were made for Mr Gidney to give his evidence.

Earlier this week, he said he would represent himself in Scotland when he gives evidence later this month.

The case continues.
