The number of marshals at this year's TT was up on last year's centenary event.
There had been concern that after a difficult year, following the deaths of a rider and two spectators during the final event of TT 2007, those willing to give up their time to marshal would fall.
However, on Manx Radio this morning Chairman of the TT Marshals' Association Bill Carden (pictured) said there was an excellent response, and with a little political help the numbers signed up increased:
