Demonstration planned for Tynwald Day

A man suffering from Parkinson's disease, who is calling for a non-means tested benefit for the chronically sick in the Isle of Man, has taken his campaign on-line.

Rob Farrer has set up a website at isleofmanbenefitsgroup.org, where supporters can add their names to the petition.

He will also present a Petition for Redress of Grievance at the annual open air sitting of Tynwald on July 7.

There is information on the website about a protest which will take place on Tynwald Day, when representatives will hand out balloons in support of the campaign.

Mr Farrer says it will be peaceful, non-disruptive demonstration against the treatment the chronically sick receive (audio file attached):
