Bishop says 'gay wedding' is provocative

by isleofman.com 17th June 2008
At the start of his first full week in the role, the Island's new Bishop has spoken about the controversial 'wedding' of two gay clergymen.

Two male priests have exchanged rings and vows in a ceremony which broke Church of England guidelines.

Bishop Robert Paterson, who was enthroned in Peel on Saturday, knows the parish rector Martin Dudley, who conducted the service.

Bishop Robert (pictured) says it's a provocative move which will not please the traditionalists (audio file attached):

Bishop Robert was speaking to John Hines on Talking Heads.
