DASH busier than ever

There's been a sharp rise in the number of people seeking help from the Island's Drug Advice Service and Helpline.

DASH is a confidential service for drug users and their families - and over the past 12 months, the number of calls has risen by 27 per cent.

The drug causing most problems is cannabis - the service has seen a DOUBLING of calls there, compared to a year ago.

There's also been a sizeable growth in cocaine-related problems.

DASH Manager Shelly Craig (pictured) says cocaine seems to be replacing ecstacy as the most popular recreational drug:
