Encouraging harbour traffic figures

by isleofman.com 22nd June 2008
The figures for traffic into Douglas harbour last month are looking healthy.

Passenger numbers are up by just under 4% compared to May 2007.

The department of transport sees that as very encouraging, as centenary TT traffic was included in last year's total.

Vehicle numbers for last month compared with a year ago are down by 5.6 % but again, the centenary effect has probably had an influence.

As last year was an exception, the DoT is making comparisons with May 2006.

The year-to-date figures for 2008 compare well, with passengers up by 12.7 % and a 21% increase in vehicles.
