DoT worker released on bail

A department of transport manual worker has been released on bail after appearing in court on a manslaughter charge.

Sixty-one year-old Brian Tomlinson, of Glen Vine is accused of manslaughter by gross negligence in connection with an incident during the preparations for last year's TT.

The charge relates to the death of visiting biker Alan Ronald Osborne, from Rochester in Kent, who was killed when his motorcycle was involved in a head-on crash near roadworks at the Veranda on May 14 last year.

Mr Tomlinson will appear again on August 5.
