Laxey Fair on Friday

The organisers of the annual Laxey Fair are keeping their fingers crossed for a fine day on Friday.

Last year the event was scheduled for a Saturday but had to be cancelled due to poor weather, which led to the idea of bringing it forward 24 hours.

One of the organisers, Andrew Smith, says it's not the first time it's been run on a Friday and he hopes the move will provide more flexibility for people taking part (audio file attached):
