War veterans to talk to students

Preparations are continuing for Veterans' Day on Sunday.

The event recognises everybody who has served in the armed forces and was launched in its present form three years ago.

There will be a full programme through the day and this year students from five Island schools will have the chance to talk to people who have served in conflicts.

History student Amanda Litherland says speaking to the veterans is a fantastic experience for her (audio file attached):
