Third Time Lucky for Golfers?

by isleofman.com 27th June 2008
After being flooded and blown off course last weekend, a third attempt to stage the qualifying round for the Grant Thornton Isle of Man Golf Championship will be made at Rowany tomorrow (SATURDAY).

81 players will try and finish in the top sixteen and therefore progress to next week's matchplay rounds.

The first threesome will tee-off at seven o'clock tomorrow morning with 36 holes ahead of them.

Champion Mike Rae will be defending the title on his home course and starts his title defence at ten o'clock.

This is the first time since 1976 that the qualification tournament has taken place a week later than scheduled.
