A woman who stole a number of blank prescription forms and used them to obtain Class C drugs has appeared before the Deputy High Bailiff..

28 year old Yvonne Hall of Bromet Road, Castletown admitted the theft of the forms, also stealing a mobile phone from Ballasalla train station, goods from Boots chemist and Marks and Spencers.

The offences were all committed between October 11th 2007 and May 2008.

Inspector Andrew Turner prosecuting said the defendant stole the prescriptions from an outpatient's clinic. They were filled in and signed with her doctor's name although she refused to tell police who had filled the forms out.

The offences came to light when the pharmacist at Boots became suspicious and phoned the doctor whose name was on the prescription, and he said he had not signed them.

The defendant was arrested on June 8th and her home was searched where quantities of drugs were found along with more blank prescription forms.

Hall was bailed until July 29th.
