Grove Museum goes Edwardian

by isleofman.com 30th June 2008
A glimpse of what life was like for a well-to-do Edwardian family will be on offer at the Grove Museum in Ramsey on Sunday.

From the traditional handicrafts of weaving and lace making to Edwardian garden games, visitors will discover how the young Alice and Janet Gibb spent their time in the years before the first World War.

Outside the beautifully preserved house will be a marquee with demonstrations, a vintage bus and a steam car!

Matthew Richardson from Manx National Heritage says the Grove is usually about all things Victorian, but Sunday will reflect a later period (audio file attached):

Edwardian Day at the Grove is from 10am until 4.30pm on Sunday.
