Four men in custody after drugs raid

Four men have appeared before magistrates in Douglas, all charged with drugs offences.

Twenty year-old Paul James Cross of Naples Avenue, Wallasey; Robert Kenneth Beardmore, 21, of Shakespeare Road, Wallasey, and 20 year-old Jamie Mark Smith of Foxglove Close, Abbeyfields, Douglas, were all charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply and being concerned in the importation of cocaine.

Eighteen year-old Steven Wesley Johnston, of Cronk-y-Berry, Douglas, was charged with the same offences, plus an offence of possessing cocaine.

Bail application was refused for the two local men and there was no application for bail for the two men from Wallasey.

They have been remanded in custody until July 2.

In asking for the remand in custody, Sergeant Chris Caine, prosecuting, said there were 300 grammes of cocaine involved in the case with an Isle of Man street value of ?22,000.
