There will be further cause for celebration on Tynwald Day this year, with the presentation of the certificate officially confirming the Isle of Man's status as a Fairtrade Island.
It will be handed over to Chief Minister Tony Brown and outgoing Clerk of Tynwald Malachy Cornwell-Kelly at the fair field at St John's, before the ceremonial part of the day.
Making the presentation will be Bruce Crowther of the Fairtrade Foundation, who will be accompanied by Chairman of the Fairtrade Island initiative, Peter Whittaker and founder member of the Fairtrade movement on the Island, Margaret Newton.
Agriculture Minister Phil Gawne will also be there, as the Tynwald representative for Fairtrade.
Full Fairtrade status was awarded to the Island last month, in recognition of its support for the ethical production of goods in Third World countries.
